To all of our Year 6 pupils who will join us in September 2026, their parents, carers and families…Welcome to All Saints!

We will arrange an Information Evening in June and also there will be an induction day for pupils in July.  We will provide all the information you need at these events.  However, if you have questions that you would like to ask us, please email transition@allsaints-academy.co.uk

At All Saints, we work in partnership with our primary schools to ensure pupils’ progression to secondary school is successful. In this section of the website, we want to introduce you to All Saints, our staff and our school. We hope that you will help you have an understanding of what the next stage of your education will look like as part of our community.

We know that starting secondary school an exciting time for pupils. It can also be a daunting one at the same time for you and your parents/carers…try not to worry – we will support you along the way!

If you scroll down this welcome page, you will find a drone tour and photo gallery which you can view to start to get to know the site.

We carefully place pupils in tutor groups based on the information we receive from our primary schools.  As part of the Transition programme, we will shortly introduce our Year 7 team which includes our tutors and the House Teams.

Transition Process

During the Summer term one of our Senior Leaders will visit every Primary school in the Weymouth area and meet any year 6 student who will be joining us in September of that year, they will also meet with the year 6 teacher. We will seek as much information about the year 6 student to enable us to get to know them and so our teachers can be well informed too. It is important to understand their learning journey as well as supporting well-being.

We use all the information gathered to place you into one of the Houses of our school, St Hildegard, St Veronica, St Sebastian and St Thomas, and of course we do consider if you have an older sibling in one of the houses as well as friendship groups.

Transition Days

In July, you will spend two days with us. On the first day, you be introduced to key members of staff, especially the House team.  You will then go with your new tutor group to learn about the tutor and what it means to be part of the House you are in.

Over the two days, you will spend them in your tutor groups taking part in a variety of lessons run by our amazing staff for example, Spanish, Physical Education, mathematics, English, Science, Catering as well as time with your tutor.  You may also complete a survey that helps us understand how you learn, how you feel about school and how confident you with learning.

These days will give you an opportunity to get to know the different areas of the school, meet staff and more importantly meet the other students in your tutor group and year group.  We make sure that any questions or worries that you have are answered so you prepared and supported for the start of your journey with us.

If further transition time is required this will be arranged on an individual basis and we also look to invite SEND students to an extra day to support their well-being and to meet the SEND team.
