Dear Parents and Carers

The end of the week is upon us again and we are now quickly approaching half term. Please take a moment to catch up as below:

Ski Trip

Thank you to all of the pupils and staff who attended the ski trip this week in Italy.

Pupils have had a really fantastic time and really enjoyed being away. My thanks must go to Miss Cousens, Mr Harrop, Mrs Spray and Mr Jennings for all of their work supporting this visit.

If you have not yet done so, please do take a moment to check out the images shared on Twitter

We are looking forward to taking our Upper School visit out during half term and hope the cold clear weather continues!

Safer Internet Day

Next week, I would be grateful for all parents joining us in talking with pupils about Safer Internet Day which takes place every year in February.

Clearly the internet is a great place to catch up with friends, learn new information and keep up to date with the world. However, it does also carry some risks and taking the time to think about safe usage is always time well spent.

Particularly thinking about Social Media platforms, I would respectfully bring the points below to parents’ attention:

You can read more below about Safer Internet Day:

Also, there are helpful resources here for parents:

I would be very grateful for all parents checking pupils are not looking to push the boundaries in the following areas regarding uniform and jewellery:

We have just one week to go and I would like to focus on the learning with the basic expectations regarding appearance in place.

We will confiscate items that are not in our uniform policy and have the necessary powers to do this.

Pupil Leadership: Anti Bullying

I must thank all members of our School Council for their work in the Year to Date. They have made a great impact in terms of fundraising, advocating and engaging young people in leadership activities. I was very pleased, therefore, to have our Anti Bullying Ambassadors present to them their plans for after half term.

I am pleased to confirm that we are setting up a Peer Support Room for Term 4 that will be manned by trained pupils and our senior prefect team during lunchtimes. This will give pupils who are in need of support a different route to that support if they are feeling anxious about reporting directly to an adult.

Pupils who have are experiencing problems may wish to use our reporting email should they wish to report anything: [email protected]

Finally, thank you as ever for your support in the final week before the holiday

Best wishes for a restful weekend – God Bless you all!
