Dear Parents and Carers
A quick update from the week that was…
Year 11 Exams
A huge well done to all of our Year 11s this week – pupils have done extremely well and quickly adapted to the routine of the exam season.
We are also grateful for pupils continuing to attend the Turbo Timetables we have planned. So far, at least three or four questions and topics studied in the session immediately prior to the exam have come up in the real thing! Thank you to all of the positive support we have had for this and for keeping us in the loop of any prearranged appointments that we need to be aware of.
A couple of points to note:
- Pupils must wear full uniform
- Pupils are only permitted to have clear plastic water bottles – we would encourage everyone to have one to stay hydrated
- Now that pupils are getting used to the way the exams work, they really do need to be arriving in good time – start times invariably get quicker as the exams continue
Year 10 Work Experience
Year 10 have done a fantastic job of getting work experience placements arranged – well done. This is taking place during the week commencing 6 June 2022.
Next week, any pupils who have not signed up will have one final chance to do so, with our careers advisor Mrs Helen Bull being in school on Monday and Tuesday. If pupils have not signed up by then, they will be required to be in school attending a programme of core catch-up lessons and community service related activities.
KS3 Assessments
After half term pupils in Years 7, 8, 9 & 10 will have their end of year assessments.
These will take place during the weeks commencing 27 June and 4 July, so a little way off just yet.
We will arrange for briefing sessions in the first week after the Half Term with further details about the content to also be released.
Getting the basics right
Finally, thank you once again for your support with uniform, mobile phones and punctuality to lessons and the school day. Getting these things right is so important in starting the day off on the right foot and ensuring learning time is maximised. Please help pupils understand that we are simply trying to help everyone learn as much as possible in the time available to us all!
Have a great weekend – one more week to go before a well deserved break for everyone!
God bless you all
