Dear Parents and Carers, Colleagues and Pupils

Thank you for your work this week, in particular for dealing with the disruption caused by Covid 19 absences.

Please take a moment to read a couple of updates:

1) Covid 19

I am hopeful that we will be able to have all year groups back in on Monday next week, but I am going to assess the situation on Sunday afternoon.

Please keep an eye on your emails and our social media feeds.

2) Year 10 Careers Update

Mocks

Next week Year 10 mocks start.  Good luck, Year 10 – please do you best. Other year groups, please be respectful and quiet in the South Corridor and Cross areas in particular.

Work Experience

Mr Jennings has spoken with Year 10 pupils this week about Work Experience. A letter can and booklet for pupils will follow next week. It is important that pupils research and take steps to book a place that they will be interested in.

Careers Interviews

Thank you to all parents who have offered to help us with this process. Having the chance to understand an interview environment is really helpful for young people.

A letter about the Year 10 Careers Programme can be found here https://www.allsaints-academy.co.uk/download/year-10-careers-information-2022/?wpdmdl=9676&refresh=6234eace6e6ac1647635150

3) Year 9 Options Processes

Thank you to everyone who has already completed the form. If you need help, please contact Mr Osborn.

A short video about the next stage of the process can be found here: https://youtu.be/ja0UL_a0uyk

4) National School Breakfast Programme

I am delighted to confirm that we have been able to sign up to the National School Breakfast Programme. This means every pupil will be able to have a free breakfast at school.

Having a good breakfast and starting the day off well fed is proven to have a good impact on children’s learning. Please keep an eye out for more details soon.

5) Events and visits

It has been a busy week this week with visits to Les Miserables and Weymouth College’s Performing Arts Department, as well as a number of sporting fixtures. Year 7 football won 5-4 against Wey Valley Academy on Tuesday and the Year 8 Basketball Team triumphed 26-16 against Atlantic. Well done to all the teams from all sides and all of the players involved!

Wishing you a restful and peaceful weekend

John Cornish
