Dear Parents and Carers

Please take a moment to read a short summary of recent events

Remembrance Day

This week pupils have taken part in our yearly act of remembrance in paying tribute to the brave servicemen and women who have given their lives in service of their country. We stopped and reflected also on the enormous tragedy of the Great War at 11am today. Thank you to Brother Ally and Father Anthony who showed Christian unity by leading our assembly this week.

Sustainability Event

A number of Year 7 pupils took part this week in an online Sustainability Event organised by the National Oceanography Centre with exclusive messages from research ships out on location. Pupils learnt from leading scientific ecosystem experts and took part in a live Q&A. Topics discussed included the ecosystem’s climate change challenges, the actions needed, and those already taking place, the solutions that are possible and what can be achieved for the future. Well done to everyone who took part!

Jane Keyworth from FACE is delivering a one hour talk at the school to parents on how the teenage brain development impacts on teenage emotions, thinking and behaviour. This is taking place on Tuesday 29 November 2022 6.30pm – 7.30pm

This will be an excellent opportunity to say a final farewell to our leavers and to celebrate your All Saints’ journey

Anti Bullying Week 2022

Anti-Bullying Week 2022 is coordinated in England and Wales by the Anti-Bullying Alliance.

It will take place from 14 to 18 November 2022 and has the theme Reach Out. The week will kick off with Odd Socks Day on Monday 14th November, where adults and children wear odd socks to celebrate what makes us all unique.

Pupils are welcome therefore to wear odd socks on Monday to support this important event!

Attendance

I am pleased to see an improvement in attendance rates for many pupils. Please continue to support strong attendance for your child – this is the single most important thing that you can do to help your child progress at school!

If you need support, please contact Mr McConnell, Assistant Vice Principal via the Office

Children in Need

Next week, we have our Children in Need fundraiser. Please send a donation in should you wish for your child to wear non school uniform on Friday.

Finally, I hope you all enjoy a restful and peaceful weekend. Take a moment to reflect and remember those who gave their tomorrow for our today – we owe them an enormous debt of gratitude.

With every blessing

John Cornish
