Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome to a brief weekly update. I hope that pupils have enjoyed having some time back today.

Our INSET day today has been very productive in terms of planning for next academic year.

End of Year Assessments

Thank you and well done to all pupils who are sitting their end of year assessments at the moment. Please keep up the good work and try your hardest in each and every exam.

I have asked all teachers to not set Homework at this current time – it should be aiding revision not setting other work.

Please ensure pupils are in good time for their exams (particularly Year 10) so that they can be settled and calm for the start.

Once exams are finished, pupils must go straight back to class so as to make the most of the learning time available.

The results of all the assessments will be released to pupils and parents in the last week of term.

Year 5 Visits

This week we have welcomed Year 5 pupils from the local primary schools to take part in a STEAM (Science, Tech, Engineering, Art, Maths) programme.

These have been very positively received and have been lovely days to see in action – thank you to all of our pupils who have helped and welcomed younger pupils.

We will look to build on these in the new academic year as part of our ongoing Primary Outreach work.

Extra – curricular events

This week has been a busy one with a Year 7 visit to Salisbury Cathedral, a Performing Arts Event on Sea Shanties in liaison with Weymouth College, Dorset Council and other local schools . It was great to see pupils taking part in a face to face performance event, something that has been in short supply over the last couple of years.

Pupils from Year 10 have taken part this week in the Rona Sailing Trip and by early reports have had a fantastic time.
