Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome to a short round up of the week’s key news

Covid 19

It has been good to have every year group in this week and not need to use Remote Learning. Well done to every pupil for your resilience in navigating the challenges of Covid and continuing to make progress.

Thankfully, staff cases have continued to stabilise and we have more colleagues coming back next week so it is looking more positive as we go into the final week of term.

Year 11 Exams Update

Thank you to everyone who attended the Year 11 Exams Information Evening. Pupil timetables have been released today. There is one small issue with pupils who are studying History, which will rectified early next week and will have no consequence.

On the website (Pupils > Year Groups > Year 11), you will find the Revision Timetable that was shared on the night, a link to the video of the evening and also the slides from the evening.

Easter is a fantastic time for Year 11 to continue with a detailed revision timetable – please do make sure to talk it through with your child and to ask us for any help if needed.

Events this week

It has been another busy week with a number of sporting fixtures – a win for the Y7-8 Girls team but a defeat in the area final for Year 9 Boys – well done to everyone taking part.

We have also seen the following this week: a movie night fundraising event (Encanto); a fabulously delivered Year 11 Performing Arts show for family and friend of pupils last night; the Year 9 Options Deadline – please talk with Mr Osborn or Mr Oxborrow for more details.

Events next week

Again – we have a busy week coming up, with Year 10 Mock Interviews (Thursday), Year 11 Parent Consultation Evening (also Thursday) and Communion Services for all year groups (Tues & Thurs). It is also the last week of term so we will be distributing the Newsletter about the last 6 weeks.

Breakfast Club

I have been very pleased to see numbers increasing rapidly for Breakfast Club. Remember, this is free for all pupils; please ask your child to be there by 0800 – 0815 so there is plenty of time for them to eat and be ready for the bell at 0835

Finally, I shall end as ever, by wishing you and your family a restful and peaceful weekend

With best wishes

John Cornish
